Yaniv "Nev" Schulman Schulman shares his experiences and some insights on how social media sites, and the always lurking catfish, have both simplified and complicated dating for Millenials.
Nev Schulman started a film and photography production company with his older brother at the age of 19. One of the projects that came out of this successful partnership was the hit documentary feature "Catfish," for which Nev's own online love drama was the subject. According to an MTV survey of Millenials, 18-24 years old, 1 in 4 has online dated, 1 in 2 has "a friend" who does it and, in the past three years, traffic to top 10 online dating sites has tripled.
Nev Schulman has lived and worked in New York City his entire life. After five years of studying dance and performing internationally as a child, he began taking photography seriously in high school. In 2004, Nev began photographing the New York ballet community and has worked with many companies and choreographers, and continues to be a passionate advocate of the art form.
