Bio
Dr. Brett Schofield is a Full Professor at Northeastern Ohio University Medical School in the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology. He received his BA from the University of Delaware and Ph.D. from Duke University. Dr. Schofield has received numerous awards including the C.P White Research Award, James A. Shannon Director's Award from the National Institutes of Health, and American Medical Women's Association Gender Equity Award. He has been on both NIH and NSF study sections and reviews scholarly research for many top journals (e.g., Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Neuroscience, Synapse, etc.). Dr. Schofield's research examines the anatomical basis of brain circuits to identify how cells in the brain work together for higher-order processing.
