"Unlocking the Secrets of the human brain: Neuroscience's last frontier," John Brugge, University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Bio
Dr. John Brugge is an emeritus Full Professor at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He received his BA from Luther College and MS and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research career has focused on understanding how the brain works using both animal models and human subjects. He is currently collaborating with the neurosurgery team at the University of Iowa Hospital to examine brain function in human subjects with implanted electrodes in various regions of the brain. Dr. Brugge is world-renowned for his research that has received many awards and honors over his distinguished career. He has served the scientific community in various fashions (e.g., NIH study section, journal reviewer, creator of neuroscience educational software, etc...), and currently serves on the board for the Wisconsin Association for Biomedical Research and Education.
