We will kick off the event with guided tours and a free seedling giveaway in honor of National Public Gardens Day. Reiman Gardens is proud to join public gardens across the country to celebrate National Public Gardens Day annually on the Friday before Mother's Day. The day allows us the opportunity to raise awareness of America's public gardens and their important role in promoting environmental stewardship and awareness, plant and water conservation, and education in communities nationwide.
Complimentary guided tours will take place at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Each visitor will also be invited to take a free seedling to take home.
In honor of National Public Gardens Day, each member garden who charges admission will participate in the Better Homes & Gardens free admission program. Youth activity stations will run 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Youth will have the opportunity to create their own Iowa mosaic in honor of our "More than Meets the Iowa" theme year. All visitors will also have the opportunity plant a seed to take home.
The Story County Master Gardeners will be hosting a plant sale in Reiman Gardens' maintenance lot from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sure to satisfy your gardening needs, this unique selection of plants, many from the gardens of Master Gardeners, includes perennials, heirloom tomatoes, rhubarb, and herbs.

In honor of Mother's Day, all mothers will receive free admission to the Gardens. The first 100 mothers will also receive a special cut flower with admission. A special youth activity station in honor of Mother's Day will run from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

During the three day event, the Gift Shop will offer spring specials such as seed packets from Seed Savers Exchange. Come in and enjoy some gourmet food sampling as well.
