Dr. Abhisek Sen

The heavy-ion program at RHIC aims to investigate the properties of the strongly interacting matter produced in nucleus-nucleus collisions. Heavy quarks are an excellent probe because they are formed predominantly by the gluon fusion in the initial hard scattering. I will present an overview of the related observables, which offer direct insights into the nature of the medium.
