Peter Hamann is an American ceramicist who studied in Iowa as a young artist and has lived in Japan for over 30 years where he has perfected his exquisitely beautiful ceramic forms. Through his time in Japan he has become exceptionally knowledgeable in the art of the tea ceremony, a highly important and respected event in Japanese culture. Peter will share his artwork and knowledge in this lecture.

Several new acquisitions of Peter's ceramics will be on view as part of the 40/40 exhibition and through this lecture Peter will represent how the arts and artists of Iowa have significantly impacted both the national and international art worlds.
