Iowa Public Radio's "Horticulture Day" show is turning 30. Join IPR "Talk of Iowa" host Charity Nebbe for a live show and family field day.

Tours of the 230-acre farm begin at 1:30 p.m. A special edition "Horticulture Day" program begins at 2:30 p.m. (be part of the audience). Visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket.

Research station students will provide a farmer's market so visitors can buy produce grown on the farm. There also will be crafts and games for children, including mega veggie tic-tac-toe, carrot relay races and veggie toss.

Parking is available on site.
