Trinect fellows (graduate engineering students), ISU students in elementary education and local elementary teachers together develop classroom research activities for students in grades 3-5. Engineering applicants are sought for the 2017-18 school year. Current Trinect fellows will answer questions; a short overview will begin at 4:30 pm.

Graduate students in any field of engineering who also have an engineering undergraduate degree are eligible to apply to be fellows. Trinect fellows spend one full day every week in the classroom performing the duties of a "resident engineer."

Trinect fellows provide teachers with content-related professional development while acting as professional role models for the elementary students. In this regard, fellows who are confident in their engineering skills and who have had some industrial experience (internship, coop, or full-time work) particularly are sought.

Applications are due Nov. 14; interviews will be conducted the week of Nov. 28.

Engineering graduate students accepted to the program will receive a $25,000 stipend, plus benefits and tuition. This program is funded by the National Science Foundation.
