Dr. Sung-ju Kang, Korean Astronomy and Space Science Institute

Abstract : I will introduce the all available radio telescopes running by KASI. There are three main telescopes running by KASI - TRAO, KVN and JCMT. Taeduk Radio Astronomy Observatory (TRAO) is a 13.7 m radio telescope and multi-beam receiver system operating for the frequency range of 86 to 115 GHz (3 mm wavelength). Korean VLBI Network (KVN) was built by KASI and as a dedicated-VLBI network also aims to study the spectral and temporal properties of transient sources such as bursting star-forming regions, intra-day variables compact radio sources, gamma ray flaring AGNs, etc by conducting systematic multi-wavelength monitoring campaigns. KASI is also a member of East Asia Observatory consortium. EAO is taking charge of running the JCMT in Hawaii. Currently, I am involving three large programs and I will also give an introduction of each large program that I am involved.
