An interactive event focused on increasing your ability to be sustainable. The event will host sustainable organizations, clubs and research groups, green-it-yourself stations, a clothing swap, free food, green giveaways and more.

Sponsored by the Office of Sustainability, Sustainapalooza features education, engagement and empowerment opportunities related to how students, faculty and staff can take small actions every day toward a sustainable tomorrow. Included in this event are: Green it Yourself (GIY) Centers - offering something to do and something to take; campus and community sustainability-themed tabling displays; sustainability-minded artwork, music by 88.5 KURE, local food refreshments; and greener living giveaways.

This year's GIY opportunities include - Mason Jar terrariums, essential oil green cleaners, upcycling t-shirts into reusable bags, plant hangers and pet tug toys, and creating mini-first aid kits for donation to campus and community members in need.

In addition... a clothing swap! Drop off donated items in collection boxes around campus or bring them to the event!! Participate without donating by bringing two non-perishable food items or a $2 donation (to provide credit for one "swap" - multiple donations can be made for multiple "swaps" - SPECIAL DEAL!! 3 swaps for $5!!) - all donations will be provided to support The SHOP, ISU's food pantry. Unswapped clothing will be donated to community organizations for distribution.

Participating tabling organizations include: 88.5 KURE Ames Alternative, Ames Campus Lions Club, Ames Community and Youth Club, Biological Sciences Club, City of Ames, Climate Reality Campus Corps, Engineers for a Sustainable World, Engineers Without Borders, Environmental Education Club, Greeks Go Green, Green Hills Retirement Community, Green Iowa AmeriCorps, Horticulture Club, International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences, ISU Department of Residence, Jax Outdoor Gear, Mustard Seed Community Farm, Oxfam America Club, PrISUm Solar Car Club at ISU, Socialize with Pride, Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science, Soil and Water Conservation Club, Story County Conservation, Sustainable Agriculture Student Association, Sustainability Committee of Student Government, The Green Umbrella, The EcoTheatre Lab, The Loft Resale, The Pride Alliance and Z.W.
