"Beyond Accommodations: An Introduction to Disability Studies," Dan Van Sant, staff advocate at Disability Rights Iowa, will talk about : ableism as a form of oppression, how ableism is deeply entrenched in our culture/language, and the idea that disability is more than accommodations -- it is a way of existing in the world, similar to other forms of diversity. Part of Disability Awareness Week.
