Wrestling legend Dan Gable will talk about the sport and his life, followed by a book-signing. His latest book, "A Wrestling Life: The Inspiring Stories of Dan Gable," will be available for purchase. Gable is a retired Olympic wrestler and coach best known for his tenure as head coach at the University of Iowa where he won 15 NCAA team titles between 1976-1997.

"Hometown Teams: How Sports Shape America" is part of Museum on Main Street, a unique collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service, state humanities councils across the nation, and local host institutions. This is a free community event sponsored by the Ames Convention and Visitor's Bureau community grant, Ames Tribune, City of Ames, Hunziker Realty, Hunziker Property Management. HCS Builders, Iowa State University Athletics Department, Mediacom, Wells Fargo Bank, and the Ames Chamber of Commerce.
