With the increasing trend of the space community to develop their own space systems, there is a growing interest in CubeSat technology. CubeSat is an innovative platform for scientific research and engineering education and, in this presentation, its recent applications to astronomy, space physics, and atmospheric research are introduced with the summary of the technology. The summary mainly covers engineering perspective such as mission design, spacecraft construction, ground operation processes, but possible collaborative research between departments of Iowa State University is also proposed.
