In her talk, Green discusses connections between her work as a geologist, which aims to understand and convey the wonder of the landscape and the complexity of earth processes, and her fiction writing, which explores the complexity of human emotion and relationships through essays, stories, and poetry.
Deborah Green earned a BS in geology from the University of Rochester and an MS in engineering geology from Texas A&M University.
The Richard H. Jahns Lectureship is supported by the Environmental and Engineering Geology Division (EEGD) of the Geological Society off America (GSA) and the Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists (AEG).
