The CHemical Abundances Of Spiral galaxies (CHAOS) project uses the
Multi-Object Double Spectrograph on the Large Binocular Telescope
to obtain "direct" abudances of large numbers of HII regions in nearby
spiral galaxies. One of the prime motivations for the CHAOS program
is to quantify the dispersions in chemical abundances in spiral galaxies
at a given radius. After accounting for the radial gradient, this acts
as a probe of the uniformity of chemical abundances throughout spiral
galaxies. I will present the latest results from the CHAOS project on
this question based on the observations from our first four galaxies.
