Iowa State is one of six collaborating partners -- along with the City of Ames, Heartland Senior Services, Mary Greeley Medical Center, Story County government and Des Moines Area Community College -- involved in researching and planning a proposed 125,000-square-foot intergenerational Healthy Life Center on Ontario Street in Ames. A bond referendum is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 10, to determine if Ames residents support financing $29 million of the $49 million project cost.
