This three-day event is planned each semester by the Iowa State Blood Drive student organization. Participants also can view their free COVID-19 antibody test results several days after donating. Donors receive a T-shirt while supplies last.

IOWA STATE BLOOD DRIVE
Established in 1962, the Iowa State Blood Drive has grown to be recognized as one of the largest student-run blood drives in the nation. Each semester, students organize a blood drive to give students, faculty, and staff the ability to give the most precious gift there is, the gift of life. Iowa State Blood Drive works with numerous blood centers from around the country, such as Red Cross, Life Serve, and Mississippi Valley Blood Center to help the shortage of blood in our hospitals.

Although an estimated 38 percent of the U.S. population is eligible to donate blood at any given time, less than 10 percent of the eligible population actually donate each year. Many do not understand the need for blood donors in our world today, and the Iowa State Blood Drive attempts to combat that need every year.

Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. One donation can save up to three lives. Every drop counts.
