Workshop: Getting Started in Iowa Politics
Ready to Run Iowa is a non-partisan campaign training program to encourage women to run for elective office, position themselves for appointive office, work on a campaign or become involved in public life as leaders in their respective communities. Fee includes workshop materials, a parking pass and light refreshments. Registration is required.

Industrial designer and applied anthropologist Siobhan Gregory, a senior lecturer in design and design research at Wayne State University in Detroit, will speak about the changing roles, responsibilities and expectations of industrial designers working in the private and social sectors and the increasingly important role of anthropological methods in creating designs that are culturally appropriate, inclusive and relevant.

Walk-in Argentine Tango
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4-5pm, moves for beginners are introduced with a different figure each week along with techniques for dancing better. From 5-7pm, the dance floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie and working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.

The UM Connection: President's Day
This President's Day, let's examine portraits of Lincoln by Christian Petersen and discuss how this President became one of the most recognized people in American history. The UM Connection is an after-hours opportunity to study unique aspects of the permanent collection within the museum and develop visual literacy skills to communicate about complex topics.
