Learn about animal agriculture with hands-on activities, live animals, Taste of Iowa sampling, displays, demonstrations and more.
Student Conference: Transforming Gender and Society
Presentations will include original research, creative work, pedagogy, activism and thematic pieces. Speakers are Martino Harmon, senior vice president for student affairs, and Katy Jaekel, Assistant Professor, department of counseling, adult and higher education, Northern Illinois University, DeKalb. Breakfast and lunch are provided.
Natural Skincare with Botanicals

Workshop: Morel mushroom certification
To legally sell morel mushrooms in Iowa, sellers must complete a certification workshop that covers identifying morels and false morels. People can be poisoned by eating mushrooms that are misidentified as morels. By the end of the workshops, participants will recognize true morels from false morels. Register online.

Cyclone Cinema: Holmes & Watson
Holmes & Watson is a PG-13 mystery/crime movie rated 1 stars. Will Ferrell and John Reilly star as Detective Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson who join forces to investigate a mysterious murder at Buckingham Palace. Refreshments and snacks available at extra charge.

The Last Bison w/ Ben Schrag & The Cautionaries
In the past they have been compared to indie superstars the likes of Mumford & Sons, The Decemberists, and Fleet Foxes. However, their VA project harvested a more dynamic, and anthemic sound from the soil of their folk roots. The addition of electric bass and keyboards to their extensive collection of acoustic instruments gave them a more dynamic, driving sound.

Walk-in Argentine Tango
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4-5pm, moves for beginners are introduced with a different figure each week along with techniques for better dancing. From 5-7pm, the floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie Williams, and for working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.

"Building a Rain Garden." Rain gardens can be an ideal way to protect local water sources while adding beautiful plantings to a well-drained yard. Horticulturist Jessie Liebenguth will talk you through the steps and provide resources you can use to create your own rain garden. Preregistration with prepayment is encouraged by April 7.

Research workshop: Working with IACUC or IBC Protocols Using a-tune
The Office for Responsible Research, Office of the Attending Veterinarian and Laboratory Animal Resources are offering software training for researchers who submit IACUC or IBC protocols. Participants will learn how to navigate the new electronic protocol submission system, a-tune. Training topics will include creating and submitting a protocol, and, for animal users of LAR, how to order animals and manage animal records.
Meeting: Faculty Senate
The Faculty Senate represents the general faculty of Iowa State and participates in shared governance of the University with the administration. Senate meetings are open to the public.
Woodshop Orientation
Learn the fundamentals of woodworking equipment while creating a tool carrier. Leave class with knowledge of proper machinery use, and, most importantly, woodshop safety. Students may purchase the toolbox for $6 after class or we will use them for our Art Mart fundraiser. The orientation is required in order to use the woodshop on your own.
