St. Louis Area Methods Meeting
SLAMM is a regional meeting highlighting data science applications of political science questions. Four scholars will discuss their work on campaigns, human rights, local government and networks in Congress. Preregistration (free) is required. Hosted by the political science and statistics departments.
Research Workshop: Submission software training
The Office for Responsible Research will transition to a new electronic system for submission, review, and maintenance of Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) applications. The a-tune tick@lab system will go live in early 2018, integrating research, teaching and testing protocols, animal procurement and management, as well as veterinary medical records.
Tennis

Reception: Biorenewables Art Competition
This 9th annual competition is a collaboration between the Bioeconomy Institute and the College of Design's integrated studio arts program. Award winners will be announced at 4:30 p.m.
'Trashion' Show
Hosted by students in AESHM 222, Creative Thinking and Problem Solving, to bring awareness to environmental issues hurting the planet. Students have created garments from recycled materials such as newspaper, plastic bottles, school supplies, fast food packaging and even parking tickets. The event also includes a silent auction, music, giveaways, drinks and refreshments.

ISU Symphonic Band
The Symphonic Band is an 80-member ensemble that explores traditional as well as contemporary works by composers such as Percy Grainger, Malcolm Arnold, Gustav Holst, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and Leonard Bernstein. The Symphonic Band is conducted by Steven Smyth, Associate Director of Bands.

This masterpiece of American theatre takes place in a small New England town at the turn of the last century. Through its themes lies the understanding that we are all connected no matter when we have lived and that we know in our hearts that something is eternal and it isn't the objects we own.

The Lonely Biscuits are an alternative rock band hailing from Nashville, TN. The band is comprised of Grady Wenrich, Sam Gidley, and Nick Byrd.

Open house and pancake breakfast
Annual fly-in breakfast hosted by the ISU Flying Cyclones Club. Pancake breakfast is $10 for adults; $6 for kids (12 and younger). Enjoy displays and visit with members of ISU aviation clubs and organizations and other local aviation groups. Airplane rides are available at additional cost. Iowa Butterfly Survey Network Training
Take an active role in conservation as a citizen scientist through the Iowa Butterfly Survey Network (IBSN), with this training from our entomology staff.

SAVMA Scamper
The 35th annual SAVMA (Student American Veterinary Association) Scamper is a 5K/10K run or walk. This is a dog-friendly race and competitors are encouraged to bring their canine companions. Entry fee includes chip timing, a race T-shirt, post-race refreshments and an entry for one of several door prizes. Proceeds support student involvement and raise community awareness about the OneHealth mission.
