CALS: Spring Awards Ceremony
The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences will honor faculty and staff achievements at its spring awards ceremony.
Lecture: Data science careers
"Community & Leadership in R," Gabriela de Queiroz, data scientist and founder of R-Ladies Global. She will share her experience being an R user and becoming part of the R open source community, as well has how her desire to share her experiences with others and to develop a more inclusive community led to the creation of R-Ladies.
Lecture: What's So Bad about Jesus?
Hector Avalos, a professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Iowa State, will speak on the topic of his book The Bad Jesus: The Ethics of New Testament Ethics.
Cyclone Cinema: The Post
Due to a scheduling conflict there will be no movie at Cyclone Cinema this weekend. The next showing will be Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle on Thursday, March 22 through Sunday, March 25 at 7pm and 10pm.

George Work is the cello instructor at ISU.
Concert: Bad Bad Hats
Bad Bad Hats is an indie rock band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Kerry Alexander (vocals, guitar, wisdom), Chris Hoge (drums, courage), and Noah Boswell (bass, power) met while attending Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minn. Kerry and Chris began writing songs together in 2010, recording a collection of demos that would later become their first EP.

Workshop: Human Research Basics Series
"Human Research Basics Series: Informed Consent." This four-part series looks more closely at the various components of the IRB submission process. In this session you will learn about the informed consent process, which includes participant recruitment and the informed consent document. Discussion will include regulatory requirements and best practices for designing and administering informed consent.

Iowa State hosts a tri-meet featuring Iowa and Missouri on Senior Night. Iowa State and Iowa will be competing for points in the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series.
