Research Workshop: Submission software training
The Office for Responsible Research will transition to a new electronic system for submission, review, and maintenance of Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) applications. The a-tune tick@lab system will go live in early 2018, integrating research, teaching and testing protocols, animal procurement and management, as well as veterinary medical records.

"Working with Sub-Awards." In this session you will learn practical ways of working with subrecipients (i.e., subcontractors) and collaborators in sponsored research, including tips on effective communication and managing timelines for successful submissions.
Fine dining dinner: Life Through Julia Child
Menu includes butternut squash tart with fried sage (paired with reisling wine); potato leek soup, boeuf bourguignon (cabernet sauvignon); and baked Alaska. Lecture: When the 'Water Prince' Brought an Iceberg to Iowa
"Muhammad bin Faisal's Frozen Fantasies of Antarctic Arabia," Michael Christopher Low, assistant professor, history. By retelling the story of the "water prince," this lecture will remember one of the more colorful episodes in Iowa State's history and explore the tangled histories of oil, desalination, and climate change and adaptation in the Arabian Peninsula. This lecture is held in conjunction with the ReACT Gallery exhibition exploring water.
