40th Anniversary of Earth Week - Get Your Green On, Friday Highlights
Take part in a number of "green" events to celebrate Earth Week. Highlights for Friday include a used magazine sale at the Union, Jax Recycle Gear Earth Day Promo, Central Campus kite flying, AmeZone community garden volunteer event, FREE Gabrielle Louise Concert and veggie oil workshop at Reiman Gardens, Iowa Wildlife Center Douglas Wood Concert at City Hall, FREE flower pot making at the Union, Nearly Naked Mile (for Haiti) event, and Avatar.

It's Earth Week - let's re-use! Sale runs Monday - Thursday from 8am - 10pm and Friday from 8am - 4pm.
Earth Day Celebration
Performer and songwriter Gabrielle Louise is a nationally touring troubadour with a commitment to the environment. An advocate of alternative fuels, she tours in a van fueled entirely by vegetable oil. She will offer a 30-minute workshop on the economic and environmental impact of this alternative fuel source, followed by a concert.

Lecture: U.S. Wind Energy Market Report
Kathy Belyeu, manager of the American Wind Energy Association's Industry Information Services, will share the results of the association's Annual Wind Industry Report. In addition to the national report, she will provide information specific to Iowa, which has the second most installed wind capacity of any state. Jonathan Wickert, Dean of the College of Engineering, will provide the introduction.
