Lecture: Metal arts
"Metal: Inside and Out." Explore the different strengths of metal by examining the metal sculpture of Joe Muench, ISU art and design, and understanding the research of Iver Anderson, ISU materials science and engineering. The two professors will share their diverse knowledge of metal by utilizing props along with objects from the current Integrated Studio Arts faculty exhibition ReLationShips.

Tuesday Tea at the Farm House Museum
Come to the Farm House Museum to enjoy tea and conversation. Mark your calendar from Noon to 1:00 pm each Tuesday this month (Oct. 6th, 13th, 20, 27th) and enjoy the 150 year old structure in a whole new way. After tea, all are welcome to join a guided tour that will highlight different topics each week, including Victorian music and entertainment, women's work through the years, Victorian dining, and more.

Film: "The Fighting Sullivans"
This is one of the most heart-warming films ever made from the true story of the legend of the Sullivan family from Waterloo, Iowa whose five sons died fighting side by side in World War II. The only ship ever named for more than one person, the U.S.S. The Sullivans was commissioned by the Navy as a posthumous tribute. More than a war movie, this film is a fantastic account of the American spirit. Running time: 110 minutes
