Tuesday Tea
Come to the Farm House Museum to enjoy tea and conversation about all things Farm House. Mark your calendar from Noon to 1:00 pm Tuesdays this month and enjoy the 150 year old structure in a whole new way. Check the University Museums website to learn what the discussion topic will be. Can't make it at noon? The Farm House will be serving tea from Noon to 4:00 pm on Tuesdays so stop in any time.
Workshop: Floral Design Series
Session A: "Dried Floral Arrangements." Learn the tips and skills used by professionals to create your own one-of-a-kind floral design. Those who complete all nine classes will receive a floral design certificate from Reiman Gardens.
Wheel Pottery with Alice McGary
Students will be guided through all aspects of forming bowls, mugs, vases and more on the pottery wheel. Learn hand-pulling, glazing and finishing techniques. Meets Tuesdays from 2:30-5pm for 6 weeks.

Fall Festival of New Music
On October 15-17 Iowa State University Department of Music and Theatre and the Iowa Composers Forum (ICF) will host a Fall Festival of New Music featuring chamber, electroacoustic, wind ensemble, and choral music by composer members of the ICF from Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Texas.

Lipa Festival Concert
"Listening Around : Listening In" is the theme for the 2010 Lipa Festival of Contemporary Music. Guest composer Elainie Lillios will present music created by placing electronic and natural sounds in Ambisonic sound space, surrounding the audience. Sonja Giles will premier "Among Fireflies" by Dr. Lillios. Other works include "Rainsticks" performed by Matthew Coley, vibraphone and electronics.

Reiman Gardens will again transform into a bit of a Japanese paradise as it hosts the Annual Iowa Fall Bonsai Show. The event feature exhibits, bonsai demonstrations and a Japanese tea ceremony (2 p.m. Saturday). Bonsai equipment will be available for sale.
"Little Dresses for Africa" Work Day
Simple dresses made out of pillow cases provide relief and hope for the children of Africa. We will provide the supplies, but can use the hands of volunteers to assist with making the dresses.
Descarga Salsa Festival
ISU's Descarga Latin Dance Club is hosting the first ever Descarga Salsa Festival featuring San Diego's Anthony Persaud of Addicted2Salsa. Learn to dance or improve the skills; all levels welcome! Five hours of dance workshops (2-7 p.m.) with six guest instructors. The evening social dance (9 p.m-1 a.m.) is free to all attendees.

Please join the Latino Heritage Committee members as they conclude Latino Heritage Month '10. Come savor a wonderful meal composed of assorted foods from all over Latin America while enjoying music and dance performances as well as a featured speaker. We will end the event with a live salsa band. Part of Latino Heritage Month.
