Brunnier in Bloom
Celebrate spring and the current exhibitions during Brunnier in Bloom, the Museum's annual pairing of beautiful art and fabulous flowers. This event showcases the talents of Ames-area floral designers and garden clubs as they're challenged to create arrangements inspired by works of art in the Museum's collection.
Beyond Basics: Glass Beads - Applying Twisties and Millifiori
Focus on surface decorations! Students will discuss using twisties and millifiori as special design elements and practice applying them to beads. Bring your own twisties to save time; millifiori will be provided.
Beyond Basics: Intro to Modern Patchwork with Calee Himes
Patchwork is everywhere: upholstery, gadget covers, accessories, home décor and of course, quilts. Learn to make a few 7-9" modern patchwork blocks and transform them into potholders.
ISU Symphony Orchestra
Every year, the ISU Symphony showcases some of the best student musicians on campus during its annual Concert of Soloists. Students participate in a rigorous, multi-staged competition to get the opportunity to solo with the ISU Symphony. Dr. Jacob Harrison, conductor

Teresa Paschke, associate professor of Integrated Studio Arts, creates art that explores the notion of tags, monograms, and other "markings" through textiles. She will be joined by Amy Bix, associate professor of History, who will talk about the history and technological development of textile printing.

Every Friday, artist Jennifer Drinkwater will set up her studio in the ground floor gallery of the Christian Petersen Art Museum - Room 0003. She invites the public to visit with her, participate, and develop a dialog about her current project to reinterpret and recompose the Grant Wood mural for Parks Library "When Tillage Begins, Other Arts Follow".

Book Signing and Crafting with Local Author Kristin M. Roach
Kristin is promoting her recently released book Mend It Better, a contemporary twist on the traditional skill of mending. This how-to text is accompanied by dozens of inspiring examples from Kristin's own work and that of other notable craft bloggers and artisans. Participants will also have the opportunity to create a needle book, a quick and easy project featured in the book.
