Engineering Leadership Retreat
Opportunity for engineering students come together and explore leadership in a new and innovative way. The retreat is open to all engineering majors. Food will be provided. Hosted by the Engineering Student Council.
Ames Edible Garden Tour
The Ames Edible Garden Tour offers a snapshot of the diversity of Ames' urban gardens, including vegetable, fruit, flower, herb and chicken production. Stops at more than a dozen host gardens will help take expert gardeners to a new level and show novice gardeners what they can do with limited space and resources.

Soapmaking Class
Make quality, handmade soap from scratch using the cold process. Learn the step by-by-step process - from the selection of oils and fragrances and calculating lye amounts to picking out equipment. Lye safety will be emphasized (there are no pre-made synthetic bases in this class!) A messy but fun process so wear old clothing with a long-sleeved shirt. Leave class with about 1.5 pounds of soap.

This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4 - 5pm moves for beginners are introduced with a different figure each week along with techniques for dancing better.

Audit a course: Fall 2013
Last day to elect to audit a full-semester course for fall. The instructor of the course must approve an audit.
Pass/Not Pass Deadline: Fall 2013
Last day to change a full-semester or first half-semester course from Pass/Not Pass to grade basis without it counting toward total allowable P/NP credits used for graduation.
Tuition and Fee Adjustment
Last day to receive a tuition and fee adjustment for full-semester courses when dropping below full-time status. No refunds for full-semester courses after day 10 of the semester.
Afternoon Acrylic Painting Class
Learn basic color theory as well as painting from both life and photograph. Techniques will include monochromatic painting, full color application, and glazing. This course is for painters of all levels and students will share supplies.

Wheel Pottery Class
Students will be guided through all aspects of forming bowls, mugs, vases and more on the pottery wheel. Learn hand-pulling, glazing and finishing techniques. Open to absolute beginners as well as those with experience who would like to improve their technique and abilities.
Mat Cutting Class
Learn to size mats, cut straight and beveled edges, and hinge mount artwork. Bring a 5 x 7 or smaller art piece with you to class. This class is required in order to use the mat cutter on your own.
Woodshop Orientation Class
For the beginner who wants to learn the fundamentals of woodworking equipment. Proper usage of the machinery will be covered, as well as woodshop safety.
