Crochet Class
Learn basic stitches, including chain and double crochet, and how to read crochet patterns. Combine these techniques to create "shell stitch" that adds pattern and texture to your clutch. Finishing will include making a small leather tassel.

Defense Coloration Triggers in Feather Lice
Dr. Dale Clayton, a professor of biology from the University of Utah, will be speaking about the coloration defense triggers of feather lice. This talk will include discussion of host and parasite coevolution and adaptation. Dr. Clayton has a master's degree in entomology from the University of Minnesota and a Ph.D. in evolutionary biology from the University of Chicago.

Ari Fleisig is a National Organizing Specialist for the state of Iowa with the ACLU currently working on the Rights for All campaign to share the national conversation of the 2020 presidential race around voting rights, ending mass incarceration, immigrants' rights, and reproductive rights.

Know Your Rights: Harassment 101
Learn what legally constitutes harassment and what resources are available for reporting and investigating harassment incidents. The presentation will be led by ISU Police engagement and inclusion officers, Office of Equal Opportunity staff, and Story County prosecutor Ben Matchan. Open mic and small group discussions will follow the presentation.
Indigo Dye Drop-In Craft
Sarah Cady will walk you through the steps of dyeing with indigo, a natural dye that ranges from light to vibrant blue. Choose from a pencil pouches, leggings, socks, and a variety of scarves, and use traditional Shibori tying techniques to create interesting patterns on the fabric.
Woodshop Orientation
Learn the fundamentals of woodworking equipment while creating a tool carrier. Leave class with knowledge of proper machinery use, and, most importantly, woodshop safety. Students may purchase the toolbox for $6 after class or we will use them for our Art Mart fundraiser. The orientation is required in order to use the woodshop on your own.

CEAH Interdisciplinary Series: Dr. Emily Kathryn Morgan presents Picturing Packing: Commercial Visions of the American Meat Industry
Dr. Emily Kathryn Morgan, assistant professor in the department of Art and Visual Culture, discusses the visual culture of the American meat industry, focusing in particular on an illustrated catalog circulated within the industry in the early 1920s to consider how photographs propagated a vision of the industry as a prime contributor to the march of American economic and industrial progress.

Ines Martin Robles and Luis Pancorbo, faculty at the University of Virginia and partners in Pancorbo Arquitectos, were commissioned to lead the planning and design process for an addition to and renovation of the UVA School of Architecture.
