Latino Heritage Month Button Making
Celebrate the long and important presence of Hispanic and Latino Americans in north America during Latino Heritage Month stop by during open hours September 23 - October 13 to make a button or magnet. Designs feature inspirational quotes and iconic images that celebrate achievements by Latino Americans.

Re-Upholstery Class
Fix up an old stool or simple chair and customize it for your space. Dan will work with students on how to deconstruct and then reconstruct your piece including choosing the correct fabric. Note this is a very basic class - no sofas, armchairs, etc.

Online Facilitated Learning Community: Scholarly Journal Writing
This is a 3-week online workshop on academic publishing. The first week addresses targeting journals for scholarly writing, approaching editors, and a the Do's and Don't's in the submission process. Week 2 covers how to draft a smart submission and plan submission time frames. In Week 3, we will cover how to respond to Revise and Resubmits and manage significant problems with editorial staff members such as no response to email or long delays.

The McNair Scholar program supports underrepresented, low-income and first-generation students interested in pursuing a Ph.D. It exposes them to research and preparies them for the graduate school experience. The program is for undergraduates (juniors and seniors) who have a strong interest in pursuing a graduate degree and demonstrate potential for graduate school. Refreshments will be provided.
Floral Design Series
Dried Floral Arrangements - These 'everlasting' arrangements are wonderful additions to many homes. They require no water or vase and are often wreaths or swags. Learn the basics of floral design while creating beautiful arrangements to take home.
Wheel Pottery Class
Students will be guided through all aspects of forming bowls, mugs, vases and more on the pottery wheel. Learn hand-pulling, glazing and finishing techniques. Open to absolute beginners as well as those with experience who would like to improve their technique and abilities.
