January 2017 Free Admission Day
It's important to make the beauty and educational value of Reiman Gardens as available as possible to all. On the second Wednesday of every month, all guests may visit Reiman Gardens free of charge. The Gardens will still maintain its standard hours.

Reception: 2017 Women Impacting ISU Calendar
The 12 women featured in the calendar will be recognized. A program will begin at 4 p.m. Free copies of the calendar will be distributed.
Artful Yoga
This practice will enrich your yoga experience by going beyond the physical and inviting an artistic perspective to your awareness. In conjunction with the current exhibition, our practice this semester will focus on the color red. Please arrive early for a discussion on the month's topic beginning at 5:15. The practice will begin at 5:30. No yoga experience is necessary, but please bring your own mat. Free, but online registration required.

Youth Program: Caterpillar Club
Join us weekly this winter for our popular Early Childhood Development program featuring stories and creative activities around a nature-based theme. Materials are intended for children ages two to seven years old, and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
Brown Bag Lecture
Bring your lunch to the Gardens and enjoy a nature-based education program relating to the 2017 theme, Water. Topics range from gardening interests to current local science research, to holiday decorating, and more. Attend each month and experience a new topic presented by local and regional professionals and lecturers.

Mark Grootveld, manager of facility services for the Ames Laboratory, is retiring.
Exhibit Opening: "Red"
Join us in celebrating the opening of "Red," an exhibition that explores the cultural and aesthetic diversity of this vibrant hue. Fifteen faculty members from 11 different departments contributed their musings and reflections about red and the multiple ways the color can be used and interpreted. Add to the fun by donning your favorite red outfit! Light refreshments.
Walk-In Craft: Ice Dyed Scarves
Move over tie-dye, there's a new trend in town. Use fiber reactive dyes and ice to create a watercolor effect for a scarf or decorative pillowcase.

Walk-in Argentine Tango
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4-5pm, moves for beginners are introduced with a different figure each week along with techniques for dancing better. From 5-7pm, the dance floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie and working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.

Service project: Crowd-sourced mapping
The geographic information systems (GIS) facility is holding a Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service event. Volunteers will help create crowd-sourced maps of the world to help with disaster relief efforts. No experience required. Lunch is provided.
