Fourth of July at Reiman Gardens
Get the best view of both the fireworks and the Gardens by joining us on the Fourth of July. Reiman Gardens will remain open from 9:00 a.m. until the conclusion of the Ames Jaycees fireworks. The fireworks are launched just across the street for perfect viewing from the Gardens.

Retirement reception: Kathy Hanson
Retirement reception for Kathy Hanson, assistant scientist/Sensory Evaluation Unit coordinator with the Nutrition and Wellness Research Center, and a former adjunct instructor in food science and human nutrition. She has worked at ISU for 39 years.
Belly Dance Practicum with Lisa Rich-McKelvey
This class will be a Hafla format, a.k.a a Dance Party! Swing Dance with Sarah Carney
This class will lead you through basic swing dancing so that you'll feel comfortable on the social dance floor and dancing to a variety of swing music. We'll touch on elements of Jitterbug, Charleston and Lindy Hop. Swing is a great social dance and is loads of fun. No partner or experience required!

Garden Art Fair
The Garden Art Fair returns to Reiman Gardens. This popular event will feature dozens of artists and artisans selling their wares in and around the Gardens. Vendors' wares include garden photography, stained glass, pottery, handmade jewelry, watercolor paintings and more. Visit the Gardens for fabulous art as well as summer blooms, the Conservatory, the Christina Reiman Butterfly Wing and the Gift Shop.
Kickoff Ceremony: Special Olympics Torch Run
The final leg of the law enforcement torch run will originate in Ames, a kickoff to the Special Olympics national games taking place in Lincoln, Neb. A 10 a.m. pancake breakfast precedes the 11 a.m. ceremony.

Photo Field Trip: Downtown Ames with Luke Healey
Join photographer Luke Healey on a field trip to hone your picture taking abilities and take your photography to a new level. The first class will meet in the Cultural District downtown, where students can shoot and interact with the instructor and classmates. From the depot to Bandshell Park, historic downtown Ames has great photo opportunities. People, green spaces, architecture, transportation, public art and more.
Screenprinting with Dara Poorman
Learn an inexpensive way to create custom t-shirts. Using your own design, learn to make a screen with the photographic emulsion method. Bring in your shirts and print away! This class is required in order to use the Workspace screenprinting equipment on your own.

The basic stitches for embroidery can be used for more than pillow cases and kitchen towels. Tons of designs, from traditional to modern and fun, will be available, or create your own! Students will stitch on a large tote to create a fabulous bag.
