Each month's topic features a mini-tour, interesting facts, and the chance to see many things not typically open to the public. Reception: Women Impacting ISU calendar
The 2014 Women Impacting ISU calendar will be unveiled. The 12 women (four students, eight faculty/staff members) featured on the calendar were chosen by a selection committee based on their achievements in teaching, research, service, administration and various other campus activities. The event is hosted by the Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics.
Slavery by Another Name: Documentary & Discussion
In the years following the Civil War, new forms of forced labor in the American South kept thousands of African Americans in bondage until the onset of World War II. This documentary spans 1865 to 1945, uses archival photographs and dramatic re-enactments, and is filmed on location in Alabama and Georgia. Brian Behnken, associate professor of history, will lead a discussion following the 90-min film. Martin Luther King Jr. Legacy Series

Public meeting: Proposed Ames Convention Center renovation and expansion
This is one of three public meetings the Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau will host today to give Ames voters a chance to learn more about the public vote on March 4 for the proposed renovations and expansion of the Scheman Building at the Iowa State Center. Meetings also begin at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the same location.

"The Universe: Let's Stick Together" If you like Kids Story Time, you'll flip for Caterpillar Club! Please join us for winter storytelling twice per month, from October to March. Each gathering features a theme as we read aloud two or three books, and wrap up with related cooperative activities and crafts great for groups and individuals alike.

Little Dresses for Africa Work Weekend
Simple dresses made out of pillowcases provide relief and hope for the children of Africa. We will provide the supplies, but can use the hands of volunteers to assist with making the dresses.
Campaign College
Interactive workshop that will teach you how to get elected or appointed to ISU's Government of the Student Body (GSB) and to other campus leadership positions. It is designed to recruit and train college women to get involved in campus leadership, but is open to all ISU students. Registration is required.
