We are proud to be hosting three honor bands and featuring Iowa High School students.
Varieties Semifinals
Varieties has been showcasing the talent of Iowa State students for more than 80 years. Performances consist of 18-20 minute "mini-musicals" that are performed with original lyrics and choreography. Shorter acts, called vignettes, perform as well. A vignette consists of any talent that a student may have, from belly dancing to stand-up comedy. In this way, Varieties serves as Iowa State University's student talent show!
Cyclone Cinema: Twilight- Breaking Dawn pt. 1
The Quileutes close in on expecting parents Edward and Bella, whose unborn child poses a threat to the Wolf Pack and the towns people of Forks. There will be a showing at 10pm as well.

Barjche 2012: Lost and Found. ISU's annual contemporary dance concert featuring faculty, students and guest artists dance works. Choreography by San Francisco-based guest artist Kim Epifano, Epiphany Dance; Barjche artistic director Cynthia Adams; Ken James, Fellow Travelers Performance Group); and members of Orchesis 1. Musical compositions by Kimberly Fitch.

Assembled: Student Exhibit Artwork Drop off
Open to ISU students of all majors. Artists can submit works incorporating metal, clay, fiber, wood and mixed media for jury. Forty pieces will be chosen to be on display in the Pioneer Room.
Message in a Bottle Valentines
A different twist on the traditional card! Drop in to make as many bottles as you need to get your messages of love out there. Then, take a few minutes to make a valentine for a member of MICA's Living with HIV program.

Building the Golden Gate Bridge
Iowa State alumnus Paul Giroux has worked for Kiewit Corporation on a wide variety of civil engineering mega projects throughout the United States, including Baltimore's Fort McHenry Tunnel, several hydroelectric projects, Boston's Central Artery Tunnel and, most recently, the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge Skyway. He received his BS in construction engineering from Iowa State in 1979.
Cocktail Table and Tray with Dan Neubauer
Impress your guests with a hand-made cocktail table and tray at your next gathering. Using 2 x 4's as the basic building blocks beginner students will gain confidence in using power tools in the woodshop.
Origami with Vamsi Andalam
Learn the art of paper folding. Start with the basics - how to read patterns and recreate the folds. Then you will learn to fold some traditional designs like a flower, butterfly, frog, along with geometric designs like cubes, boxes, tetrahedrons.
Terrariums Workshop
Terrariums are making a comeback! Possibly the easiest gardens to maintain, closed terrariums require little or no attention. In fact, the less you meddle, the better. So come learn the basics of terrarium design and explore endless possibilities for clever containers to create and take home your own unique miniature garden under glass!

Tuesday Tea at the Farm House Museum
Come to the Farm House Museum to enjoy tea and conversation about all things Farm House. Mark your calendar from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm the first Tuesday of every month (Feb. - May) and enjoy the 150 year old structure in a whole new way. Check the University Museums website to learn what the discussion topic will be. Can't make it at noon? The Farm House will be serving tea from 12 to 4 pm so stop in any time.

Crochet with Calee Himes
Learn everything a beginner needs to know - from how to hold the yarn and hook properly to the definitions of frequently used crochet lingo. Learn stitches, how to count them and how to crochet in the round to make wrist-warmers or square coasters.

Brent Holland, associate professor in Art and Design will be joined by Eric Cooper, associate professor in Psychology, as they visually explore the past and the present, the imagined and the observed through art and the science of visual cognition.

Transplanting to Madison, WI for his adolescent years, he has created a strong following and passion. Join us for a tour of the art in and around the Memorial Union. This semester's ArtWalks focus on the Thousand Words Project, which asks members of the Iowa State Community to re-interpret works of art in the Art on Campus Collection. Meet at the north entrance to the Memorial Union.

The career fair enables students to explore career opportunities, obtain employer information and locate internships, co-ops and full-time positions. Employers have the opportunity to connect with promising candidates for job and internship openings as well as network with university personnel and other employers.
Paintpushers Reception and Show Critique
Area artists are invited to bring a current piece of artwork for a group critique. Attendees may participate in the candid discussion of the art, or just come and observe how a critique works.

Track and field: Iowa State Classic
Over 50 teams will compete in the ISU Classic, including Northern Iowa, North Texas, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Kansas State, Iowa, DePaul, Wichita State, Southern Methodist, Nebraska, Miami (FL) and Bradley. Live results will be available through cyclones.com. Flotrack (flotrack.org) will also be providing meet coverage on Friday and Saturday. Full results will be posted on cyclones.com at the conclusion of each day's events.
