"Brunnier in Bloom" Opening Night
Be among the first to experience "Brunnier in Bloom", the University Museums' annual pairing of beautiful art and fabulous flowers. This event showcases the talents of Ames-area floral designers as they are challenged to create arrangements inspired by works of art in the Museums' collection. Opening night you will be able to participate in a silent auction/raffle for fabulous prizes, and hear who the judges choose as this year's winners.
Planetarium Show
Planetarium shows will start at 7 pm and 7:45 pm. Free tickets for the shows will be available at the door starting at 6:30 pm. The shows are suitable for all ages, and are followed by a star-gazing session (weather permitting).
Dance social
Free dance social hosted by the ISU Ballroom Dance Club. Singles welcome. Dress is casual, however indoor shoes or socks must be worn in the studio. Check the website for a full schedule.
ISU Theatre production of "Six Characters"
An acting company begins to rehearse a play, but as the rehearsal begins, it is interrupted by six people who say they are unfinished characters in search of an author to finish their story. The Director of the play first thinks the six are mad, but begins to listen to what they have to say, and finally, even though he is not a writer, agrees to stage their story. Others in the acting company are not happy with the Director's decision.

Urban Development through Shrinkage
"From Boom to Bust: How Smart Shrinkage Can Help Formerly Growing Places Manage Decline," Justin Hollander, assistant professor of urban and environmental policy and planning, Tufts University. He will present his research into the formerly booming cities of the Sunbelt and argue that urban development can actually be achieved through shrinkage.

Registration opens (juniors)
First day of assigned Summer 2011 and Fall 2011 registration dates for students projected as juniors. Hours for AccessPlus registration are 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Monday-Saturday, and most Sundays.
Lecture: Reiman Entrepreneurial Series
Guest speaker is ISU alum Becky Taylor, senior adviser of innovation and entrepreneursip in the U.S. Department of State's office of science and technology. Registration is free but required; seating is limited.
Tuesday Tea
Come to the Farm House Museum to enjoy tea and conversation about all things Farm House. Mark your calendar from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm Tuesdays this month and enjoy the 150 year old structure in a whole new way. Check the University Museums website to learn what the discussion topic will be. Can't make it at noon? The Farm House will be serving tea from 12 to 4 pm on Tuesdays so stop in any time.
