Let's Prepare for Earth Day: Organics, Sex and The Lorax
Matthew Miller is a graduate of Iowa State and has been farming organically for the past twelve years. He also works as an organic inspector and has completed more than two thousand compliance audits of organic farms and food-processing facilities. He will offer a Catholic perspective on an all-natural lifestyle that he says makes for a better environment.

The ISU Human Computer Interaction Graduate Program will host their 9th annual Emerging Technologies Conference. ETC | 2012 will showcase the HCI program, students and research. The keynote presentation, sponsored by the Department of Computer Science Robert Stewart Distinguished Lecture Series, will be delivered by Dr. Larry Smarr.

The 2012 Robert Stewart Distinguished Lecture, with Larry Smarr, California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology, La Jolla, Calif. Smarr is a physicist and leader in scientific computing, supercomputer applications, and Internet infrastructure. The lecture is in partnership with the HCI Graduate Program Emerging Technologies Conference.
Engineering in the Navy: Contingencies to Construction
Rear Admiral Katherine Gregory will discuss the U.S. Navy's construction, engineering and humanitarian efforts in Japan after the earthquake and tsunami of March 2011. Rear Admiral Gregory is the commander of the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Pacific and Pacific Fleet Civil Engineer. "Working Over Wood" Artist Studio Open House VEISHEA
Every Friday, artist Jennifer Drinkwater will set up her studio in the ground floor gallery of the Christian Petersen Art Museum - Room 0003. She invites the public to visit with her, participate, and develop a dialog about her current project to reinterpret and recompose the Grant Wood mural for Parks Library "When Tillage Begins, Other Arts Follow".
