Art for Rent Open House
Add a splash of color and set the mood in your home or office with help from the MU. We have a collection of framed posters, prints, and original art that is available for rent by the year or half year. With close to 300 pieces in the collection there is something for everyone! Artwork ranges in size and style and most pieces rent for $10 - $25 per year.
Exhibit Opening and Artist Lecture: "Mythical Bounty"
Visit the fantastical world of glass artist Amber Cowan during the opening reception for the exhibition "Mythical Bounty: Glass Sculpture by Amber Cowan." Stay to hear Cowan speak (5:30 p.m.) about her highly intricate works of art and her unique process of repurposing pressed glass. Light refreshments will be served during the reception.

In partnership with the university library, the Ames Public Library's Bookmobile has a regular Thursday stop at Iowa State on its weekly route. Ames Public Library items for all ages can be checked out, returned or reserved in advance for pick up.

Argentine Tango Drop In Lessons
Valerie Williams This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4-5pm, moves for beginners are introduced with different partners for practice. From 5-7pm, the floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie, and for working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.
Songwriter Showcase: Joshua Sinclair
Fifteen albums in and Joshua Sinclair is just getting started. He continues to capture what life is like being a songwriter for the past 20 years. The highs and lows of life on the road, the glitz, the glam, and the disappointments. From signing multiple record deals to the music biz in general, and the relationships along the way: Sinclair provides the musical score to the stories of his life.
