Human Sciences Week
The first-ever week long celebration of the College of Human Sciences will take place Oct. 12-16. Today's events include root beer floats and a lecture by Leigh Patel.

PT Job Fair
VenuWorks, which manages the Iowa State Center, is hiring for part-time positions in wait staff, kitchen prep and utility workers. Applicants can walk in during fair hours or request an application from VenuWorks supervisors.

Acrylic Painting Class
Learn basic color theory as well as painting from both life and photographs. Techniques will include monochromatic painting, full color application, and glazing. For painters of all levels.

Brush Painting Workshop
In a world with so many problems, how can we create a more just and compassionate society to live in? Explore ways to creatively tap into your own compassion by gently opening the heart and mind through mindfulness practices, and writing the Japanese character for compassion with brush and sumi ink. McCabe teaches Buddhist philosophy, meditation, yoga, and calligraphy. He is fully ordained in the Soto Zen tradition.
