Introduction to Open Educational Resources
"How to Find & Evaluate OER." Open Educational Resources are free, openly-licensed educational materials available online. They have numerous benefits, including increasing student engagement and improving course affordability. This hands-on workshop will introduce major OER repositories and strategies for locating and evaluating resources in various disciplines. Preregistration required.

Random Acts of Kindness
Members of the campus community are invited to brighten someone's day with a random act of kindness. Write a letter to anyone, anywhere in the world. The Library will pay the postage and provide paper, pens and envelopes; participants bring the well-wishes and their loved ones' addresses.

Digital Humanities in Practice: The Wikipedia "Edit-a-Thon"
Digital Humanities has been one of the most ubiquitous phrases on university campuses for a number of years. This workshop will put a practical and pedagogical face to the phrase, by introducing the concept of a Wikipedia "Edit-a-Thon." Attendees will learn how to turn Wikipedia editing (updating as well as creating entries) into a valuable teaching tool in the humanities. Preregistration is required. Register through Learn@ISU.
