Panel: Outliers and Environmental Literary Criticism
Three literary critics from the Iowa State Department of English will discuss the concept of the environmental imagination in literature. Seminar: Visualizing High Dimension Datasets
Martin Krzywinski, Bioinformatics Genome Sciences Centre, BC Cancer Agency, will lead a seminar on how to represent large biological datasets visually and differentiate between relevant data and noise. He also will discuss which software he finds most useful for visualization. A reception will follow at 6 p.m. in the atrium.

Energy Sustainability in a Changing World
Ellen Williams is Chief Scientist at British/Beyond Petroleum, one of the world's largest oil & gas companies. Ellen plays a role in determining how developments in science and technology can contribute to sustainable, secure and environmentally responsible energy. She will discuss specific examples of carbon capture and storage, as well as biofuels.

Workshop: Reference Searching
"Get X-Cited About Cited Reference Searching," with ISU librarians Jeff Kushkowski and Lorrie Pellack. This workshop will cover all disciplines but the presentation, hands-on practice, and discussions will focus on the subject areas suggested by the attendees. Sustainapalooza: Celebrating Our Cardinal, Gold, and Green!

Lecture: Ethical Behavior in Finance
Erin Krupka is an experimental behavioral economist who studies how the desire to conform to economic social norms influences immoral and selfish behavior. She tries to understand why individuals often behave in a manner consistent with group norms, even in settings where there is no strategic advantage for doing so, including corporate settings.
