"Create Peace" for 11 Days of Global Unity
For the sixth year, Ames will participate in the 11 Days of Global Unity, a program launched in 2004 as a promotion of peace, justice and environmental sustainability. It seeks to inspire, inform and involve humanity in helping to create a world that works for all.
Paint Your Own Pottery: Peace Vessels for Global Unity
Join us for a fun exploration of techniques in "painting" bisque. Participate in 11 Days of Global Unity by making a peace medallion, ornament, box, bank or vase. We will have samples for inspiration but your own ideas are always welcome too. Studio fee is $4 for ISU and $5 for public to attend plus the cost of the bisque you select.
A New American Space Plan: Rocket City Rednecks' Travis Taylor
Travis Taylor is the leader of the Rocket City Rednecks, a National Geographic Channel series that follows five guys from Huntsville, Ala. - home to NASA's Marshall Flight Center and the birthplace of the U.S. space programs. The Rednecks are in fact rocket scientists with PhDs, and their weekend experiments combine a little hillbilly ingenuity with advanced engineering and physics to tackle real-world scenarios. Cyclone Cinema: Man of Steel
