The Art of the Steal

Join us for a screening of the film The Art of the Steal, which follows the controversy of a Philadelphia doctor's multi-billion dollar collection of Post-Impressionist paintings. Following the death of Dr. Barnes in 1951, ownership of the collection fell into question, eventually leading to the dissolution of the doctor's will. This program is part of the Art+Community Series.

This is the first day of this exhibition, it runs until December 14. "Is there a Santa Clause" was the title of an editorial appearing in the September 21, 1897 edition of The Sun of New York. The editorial, which included the famous reply "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus", has become an indelible part of popular Christmas folklore in the United States.
