Take part in a number of "green" events to celebrate Earth Week. Highlights for Tuesday include a book swap and used magazine sale at the Union and lectures on the Artic Wildlife Refuge (featuring Sierra Club Activist Award Winner Phyllis Mains) and Global Climate Change (with Professor William Gutowski - Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences).

"Taking Steps toward Global Citizenship: Linking Linguistics, Language Teaching and Learning, and the Goals of Undergraduate Education." Heidi Byrnes is the George M. Roth Distinguished Professor of German at Georgetown University. Her work focuses on the acquisition of academic literacy in a second language by adult, instructed learners and draws on curricular, pedagogical, and assessment perspectives.
