This free yoga practice is sponsored by the University Museums and Recreation Services.
Metalworking Class
Learn the basics of metalsmithing in this class including how to work with different types of metal, how to safely use tools, and techniques such as sawing, drilling, forming, chasing, annealing and riveting. Students will complete one or two projects depending on complexity. Pendants, earrings and bangle bracelets are just a few of the possibilities!
Middle Eastern Belly Dance Class
Come explore the music and movements of the Middle East with Shiara, an accomplished performer, choreographer and instructor, as your guide. Learn the basic movements used for any style of belly dance as well as a short dance routine that will help to solidify these concepts. Be sure to bring a scarf or shawl to tie around your hips and get ready to shake up your Wednesday night routine!
Intermediate Middle Eastern Belly Dance Class
Expand your understanding, increase your movement vocabulary and explore your personal expression! Examine a variety of concepts to gain a greater mastery of belly dance as well. With practice you will find the ease with which the moves can be executed in the body and how everything is intimately connected with the music to produce a final product.
