National Players presents Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream as part of the Martha-Ellen Tye Performing Arts Institute Youth Matinee Series.

Four young lovers. A band of actors. The King and Queen of fairies... all entangled in a lovers' quarrel of titanic proportions. Experience mistaken love, dark nights, and dubious tricks in this classic comedy turned electric farce.

In this production of one of Shakespeare's most revered comedies, we see how wonderful and silly the vagaries of love can be... but with a fresh twist on the setting that makes it relevat to today's fast-moving, electronic media-saturated world. The woods glow in the dark and the fairies dance to electronic music, setting the scene for the wacky things that happen when a man loves a woman who loves a man who loves another woman.

Just how much love potion is too much? Or if a man becomes a donkey for just a short while, can he find happiness? Welcome to the magical and mystical confusion of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Recommended for grade 5-adult.
