Paula Cowgill Gmelch Memorial Sculpture Dedication
Short program dedicating a memorial sculpture in honor of Paula Cowgill Gmelch, late wife of Walter Gmelch, who was dean of the ISU College of Education (now part of Human Sciences) from 1998 to 2004. The sculpture was designed, produced and installed by Ingrid Lilligren, ISU professor of integrated studio arts.
Sculpture dedication
Dedication ceremony for the Paula Cowgill Gmelch Memorial Sculpture in the Lagomarcino courtyard. The sculpture was designed by Ingrid Lilligren, ISU art and design.
Team-Based Learning
A two-day workshop, led by team-based learning specialist Larry Michaelsen. The focus is on how to effectively engage large groups of students and how to improve teaching outcomes through team-based learning with a focus on the disciplines of social science, arts and humanities. Lunch is provided both days.
Veishea: Opening Ceremony
Sarah Brown Wessling is the 2010 National Teacher of the Year and a Johnston High School language arts teacher. She holds both a bachelor's degree (1998) and master's degree (2003) in English from Iowa State, where she also completed the teacher licensure program.

Reception: Anastasia Whited MFA Thesis Exhibition
"Memory: Beauty, fragmentation and image," an exhibition of work by Anastasia Whited, candidate for an MFA in Integrated Visual Arts, is on display April 1-30 at Somerset Gallery. An informal reception will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 15 at the gallery. The public is invited to attend.
Dance social
Free dance social hosted by the ISU Ballroom Dance Club. Singles welcome. Dress is casual, however indoor shoes or socks must be worn in the studio. Check the website for a full schedule.
