Naming Ceremony: Patterson Hall
Naming the college's academic building after Dr. Frederick Douglass Patterson culminates the college's yearlong celebration of the 100th anniversary of his graduation with a doctorate in veterinary medicine in 1923. After the completion of the ceremony, a reception will be held in The Commons where a new mural honoring the legacy of Dr. Patterson will be unveiled.
United States International Poster Biennial Exhibition Reception
Opening reception and awards presentation for the inaugural United States International Poster Biennial exhibition, with remarks beginning at 4:30 p.m. After its Iowa State run (through Oct. 26), the show will travel to Long Beach, California, and other U.S. and international locations.

"Art, Creativity and Generative AI," Kunal Sen, AI scientist turned artist. Creativity is a necessary precondition of making art, but is it a sufficient condition? Are all things creative necessarily artistic? Recent advancement in Generative AI is making this question even more important. Sen has the privileged perspective of seeing it from both sides and will present his views on these intriguing questions.
