Gold Star Hall Ceremony
This important ceremony honors our Iowa State students who made the ultimate sacrifice fighting for the freedoms we enjoy. Their names are carved into the limestone walls of Gold Star Hall in the Memorial Union so that we may both remember and honor their service to our country, which merits our deep respect.

Build Your Canvas Course - Course Design Basics
This one and a half interactive, hands-on workshop is open to all Iowa State University instructors and instructional designers to explore the basics of course building in Canvas.
Town hall: Improved Service Delivery (human resources)
Interim vice president for human resources Kristi Darr will talk about the refined HR model and descriptions of jobs in the proposed model including responsibilities and qualifications, and offer further information on the responsibilities that will remain within units and the transition process for employees and units.
Research workshop: Working in USDA's ezFedGrants System
In this session you'll get detailed instructions on how to navigate the USDA ezFedGrants system, which is currently used by APHIS, Foreign Agricultural Service, and will soon be used by NRCS and other USDA agencies. You'll learn how to obtain system access, prepare and submit applications, and manage progress reporting, and you'll leave with some practical tools and guidance that will help you work with the system.
CANCELLED The Art of Historic Renovation and Cultural Preservation
This program has been cancelled due to staff illness. It will not be rescheduled. Join University Museums for a new series of tours focused on the renovation and preservation stories of the most iconic and historic locations on campus. The interior of Curtiss Hall has changed immensely in the last five years. The entire building has been renovated and transformed into a signature point of pride for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

Retirement reception: Joyce Russell
Joyce Russell, statehouse correspondent and producer, is retiring after 30 years of service to WOI Radio and Iowa Public Radio. A program will begin at 5 p.m. Attendees are invited to bring a story to share or send comments to be included in a gift. No RSVP is required for the event. Free parking is available behind the building.

Putting Your Research on the Map with ArcGIS Story Maps
In this workshop you will learn how to create interactive map-based exhibits using ArcGIS Story Maps from GIS software giant ESRI. The Precipitous Decline of Cairo, Illinois: Enamels and Photography
Enamel artist Sarah Perkins will give a short slide lecture about her personal work, which is primarily enameled bowls and containers, and photographer Gwen Walstrand will present her projects, which include narrative approaches to landscape and typological portraits of adolescents. The two will also discuss their collaborative exhibition highlighting the decline of Cairo, Illinois, on display at the Octagon Center for the Arts in Ames.
