Eye Contact: The Iowa State Portrait Collection
The ISU Portrait Collection portrays individuals who helped shape our culture and whose lives tell significant Iowa State stories. University Museums Director Lynette Pohlman will share some of these stories and talk about the tradition of portraiture at Iowa State.
Performance: Out of the Fire, The Banned Books Monologues
The Forward Theatre Company of Madison Wisconsin first performed this series of monologues written mostly by those in the area on the subject of banned books from various points of view. Banned books included range from "James and the Giant Peach" to "Lady Chatterley's Lover". Permission has been given for ISU students to include their monologues on the subject as well. This production opens on the Friday of National Banned Books Week.
Walk-in Argentine Tango
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance.
Performance: Climate Change Theatre
ISU students and Ames community members will perform Climate Change Theatre Action, a a series of worldwide readings and performances of short climate change plays presented in support of the United Nations COP meetings. A sustainability resource fair will be held during intermission.
