Gallery Walk: Paintings and Maquettes by Bill Barrett
Take this opportunity to join University Museums director Lynette Pohlman, for an in-depth look at the exhibition Paintings and Maquettes by Bill Barrett, and enhance your experience by hearing new information about the works of art you see. This gallery walk will also include Bill Barrett's sculptures currently on view in the Elizabeth and Byron Anderson Sculpture Garden.
Performance: Iowa State Singers and guests
Under the direction of Dr. James Rodde, Louise Moen Endowed Chair in Music and Director of Choral Activities, the Iowa State Singers and community choir the Ames Chamber Artists will join forces in a 100-voice chorus to perform "The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass" with Minnesota bluegrass band Monroe Crossing. Composer Carol Barnett will be on hand for the performance.

Symposium: Contemporary Immigrant Experience in Iowa
"Contemporary Immigrant Experience in Iowa: Opportunities and Obstacles." An interdisciplinary panel of ISU faculty will examine the advantages and difficulties facing recent immigrants in Iowa. Discussion will include social, economic, educational and political conditions and influences.

BFA Senior Exhibition Reception
Public reception for "From the Basement Up," the 2010 BFA Senior Student Exhibition. Comments and awards presentation by juror Greg Fuqua, artist-in-residence at the Octagon Center for the Arts, at 5:45 p.m. The reception will include beverages, food and entertainment, and an opportunity to meet the students and view the work in the show.
