Soil Health Conference
This conference is a collaborative effort between ISU Extension and Outreach, and the USDA, Natural Resource Conservation Service. The goal of this conference is to increase awareness and understanding of soil health as pivotal to sustainable agriculture and environmental quality in Iowa and the Midwest.

VPR Workshop: Updates, Initiatives, and Challenges at the National Science Foundation
Dr. Roger Wakimoto, program director at the Geosciences Directorate of the National Science Foundation (NSF), will discuss new NSF-wide initiatives for FY16, recent challenges working with Congress, the broader impacts criteria, reliability and reproducibility of scientific results, and updates regarding the Geosciences Directorate. The seminar is free and open to the public. No preregistration is required.

Business, Industry and Technology Career Fair
The career fair enables students to explore career opportunities, obtain employer information, and locate internships, co-ops and full-time positions. Employers have the opportunity to connect with promising candidates for job and internship openings as well as network with university personnel and other employers.
People to People Career Fair
The career fair offers employers and students a professional environment in which to connect and discuss internships and full-time employment opportunities in social services; education; health/wellness; government; and hospitality. There also will be an opportunity for students to meet with representatives from professional health and law schools.

VPR and EPSCoR Workshop: Building an interdisciplinary research team
Steve Fiore, director of the University of Central Florida's Cognitive Sciences Laboratory, has a long list of publications and external funding in the area of team science. He will discuss frameworks for building 'team syntheses' - from individual expertise into a collaborative network that clarifies roles; maps out flows, iterations and incremental outcomes; anticipates emergent problems; and promotes reflective improvement.
